The Honourable Keith Peterson was re-elected in the general election held on October 28, 2013, to represent the constituency of Cambridge Bay in the 4th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. Mr. Peterson was elected to serve on the Executive Council during the November 15, 2013, proceedings of the Nunavut Leadership Forum. Mr. Peterson was formally sworn into office on November 19, 2013.
Mr. Peterson previously sat in the 2nd and 3rd Legislative Assemblies. Mr. Peterson has held a number of Ministerial portfolios, including Finance, Justice, Health and Social Services.
Mr. Peterson has held a number of senior positions during his career, including Manager of the Kitikmeot Economic Development Commission, Manager of the Nunavut Economic Development Organization, Secretary-Treasurer of the Kitikmeot Corporation and Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement Negotiator for the Kitikmeot Inuit Association.
Mr. Peterson previously served as the Mayor of Cambridge Bay, the President of the Nunavut Association of Municipalities and the Chair of the Kitikmeot Law centre.
Keith and Sandra Peterson have two sons: Brendan and Nolan.
