Advisory Council Announces 2012 Appointments to the Order of Nunavut IQALUIT, Nunavut (June 5, 2012) - Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and Chairperson of the Order of Nunavut Advisory Council Hunter Tootoo today announced the 2012 appointments to the Order of Nunavut. The Order of Nunavut will be bestowed on Ms. Kenojuak Ashevak, C.C. and Mr. Charlie Panigoniak. On January 1, 2010, The Order of Nunavut Act came into force. The objective of the Order is to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cultural, social or economic well-being of Nunavut.

Reverend Michael Gardener, C.M., to Receive the Order of Nunavut on November 29, 2011

IQALUIT, Nunavut (October 12, 2011) - The Members of the Legislative Assembly will meet with the Chairperson of the Nutrition North Canada Advisory Board and program administrators from the federal Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. “This meeting will provide an important opportunity for the Chairperson of the independent advisory board and federal officials to update MLAs and all Nunavummiut on the status of initiatives to enhance the Nutrition North Canada Program,” said Caucus Chairperson John Ningark, MLA for Akulliq.
