IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 19, 2022) - Speaker Tony Akoak today announced that the Legislative Assembly will reconvene on April 20, 2022, at 1:30pm.
Speaker Akoak said, “Following consultations with my colleagues, I am satisfied that the public interest requires that the House reconvene to fulfill its obligation under the Integrity Act to consider the recent report of the Integrity Commissioner.”
Although the Visitors’ Gallery has been reopened, members of the public are required to wear masks while in the Legislative Assembly. Sittings of the Legislative Assembly are televised on local community cable stations and direct-to-home satellite service on the Bell (channel 513) and Shaw (channel 289 - classic / channel 489 - new lineup) networks. Sittings are live-streamed at: http://video.isilive.ca/nunavut/. Residents of Iqaluit may also listen to the live radio broadcast of the proceedings on the following FM channels: Floor: 92.5 / Inuktitut: 94.7 / English: 102.1.
