Jamie Kablutsiak

Jamie Kablutsiak was elected in the general election held on October 27, 2025, to serve in the 7th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut as the Member for Arviat South.

Mr. Kablutsiak serves as a Deputy Chairperson of the Committee of the Whole.

Mr. Kablutsiak is a retired educator whose career included positions at the Qitiqliq Middle School in Arviat. He has also worked at the Department of Education’s Curriculum Development Division as Team Lead for Culture and Heritage.

Mr. Kablutsiak holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree from the University of Regina.

Mr. Kablutsiak has served on the Municipal Council of Arviat, the Arviat Community Justice Committee, the Arviat Hunters and Trappers Organization and the Arviat Local Housing Association. He has been an active member of the Nunavut Teachers’ Association.

Mr. Kablutsiak has been a long-term volunteer with the community search and rescue organization and fire department. He has volunteered as an amateur hockey coach.

Jamie and Norma Jean Kablutsiak are the proud parents of Kara-May, Madison, Trisha, Joy and Presley James.

Mr. Kablutsiak’s personal interests includes hunting, fishing and spending quality time with family at the cabin.
