IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 8, 2024) - The Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Oversight of Government Operations and Public Accounts will hold televised hearings from April 19-20, 2024, on the most recent annual report of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Nunavut and from April 22-23, 2024, on the most recent annual reports of the Representative for Children and Youth.
Senior officials from the Government of Nunavut will also appear as witnesses at the televised hearings.
“Our televised hearings will provide an opportunity for Members of the Legislative Assembly to consider the extent to which the Government of Nunavut is taking action to address recommendations made by these independent officers and the standing committee itself,” said Committee Chairperson George Hickes, MLA for Iqaluit-Tasiluk.

The standing committee’s televised hearings begin at 09:00am in the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly on Friday, April 19, 2024. The hearings will be televised on local community cable stations and direct-to-home satellite service on the Bell (channel 513) and Shaw (channel 289 - classic / channel 489 - new lineup) networks. Hearings are live-streamed at: https://assembly.nu.ca/webcasts. Residents of Iqaluit may also listen to the live radio broadcast of the proceedings on the following FM channels: Floor: 92.5 / Inuktitut: 94.7 / English: 102.1.
