Standing Committee Announces Schedule for Televised Hearing

IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 12, 2021) - The Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Oversight of Government Operations and Public Accounts will hold a televised hearing from April 19-20, 2021, on the most recent annual report of the Representative for Children and Youth. “The standing committee’s televised hearing will provide an opportunity for Members to give careful consideration to the recommendations of the Representative for Children and Youth,” said Committee Chair John Main, MLA for Arviat North-Whale Cove.

The hearing commences at 1:30pm on Monday, April 19, 2021. The hearing will be held in the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly. As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Visitors’ Gallery remains closed. The hearing will be televised on local community cable stations and direct-to-home satellite service on the Bell (channel 513) and Shaw (channel 289 - classic / channel 489 - new lineup) networks. The hearing will be live-streamed at: http://video.isilive.ca/nunavut/. Residents of Iqaluit may also listen to the live radio broadcast of the proceedings on the following FM channels: Floor: 92.5 / Inuktitut: 94.7 / English: 102.1.
