Mary Killiktee was elected in the general election held on October 25, 2021, to represent the constituency of Uqqummiut in the 6th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.
Ms. Killiktee’s previous professional experience includes positions as Community Development Advisor for the Qikiqtaaluk Development Corporation, Community Justice Outreach Worker for the territorial department of Justice and Hotel Manager for Arctic Co-operatives Limited.
Ms. Killiktee’s educational background includes coursework at Nunavut Arctic College. Ms. Killiktee has served as the Mayor of Qikiqtarjuaq and is a past member of the community’s District Education Authority, Community Justice Committee and Community Wellness Committee. She has also served as President of the Qikiqtarjuaq Tulugak Cooperative and as a member of the board of directors of the Amautiit Nunavut Inuit Women’s Association.
Mary and Sam Killiktee are the proud parents of Dave and Nora.
Ms. Killiktee is an avid seamstress whose personal interests also include music, cooking and outdoor pursuits.
